In 1873, Charles de Bretagne married Gabrielle de la Bajonnière and inherited the Bijoire estate in Vendée. He then decided to demolish the old dwelling and, within two years, build a new Flemish-style home in the image of his ancestors’. The estate has been in the family for four generations.
